Suggested Books

Reading is fundamental. We mean that. It's critical for English literacy.

International Book Giving Day is almost here!

And we can't think of a better time to help us stock up on books for our baby, kid, and teen packages.

Our suggestion - use the list below to buy a book or two to donate to Butterfly Boxes and then buy a book about the refugee experience to share with a child in your life.
Learn more about this annual tradition on their website.

Did you know that Multnomah County's library system has the second highest circulation of all libraries in the United States? We love libraries. And we encourage all members of our community to use them. But we also think it's important for all kids to have books in their homes. So we provide at least one book in each baby, kid, and teen Butterfly Box. When possible, we include them in adult boxes as well.

The list below is  teacher and school-librarian approved to include culturally relevant stories and books that are great for students who may still be learning English. This is just a start!
