We are actively seeking dedicated community members for our board of directors.
Could you be among them?
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
Above all we expect our board to demonstrate a commitment to welcoming refugees to Oregon. The board will come from a diversity of backgrounds, interests, talents, and skills.
WHAT IS EXPECTED OF A BUTTERFLY BOXES BOARD MEMBER?
We are a volunteer-run organization with a commitment to developing board members from diverse backgrounds, including from among the communities we serve. At minimum, we ask board members to agree to
attend quarterly board meetings, including one multi-day retreat each year
attend at special events
serve on one board committee (currently Donations, Community Outreach, Partnerships, & Fundraising)
be informed of and share the organization's mission & programs with community members
assist the board in meeting its fiduciary responsibilities
make a financial or additional service contribution to the organization:
either $1000 cash donation (personal or solicited)
or 40 hours of volunteer service (e.g. membership on additional board committees, volunteering at regular organization events, etc.)
HOW LONG IS A TERM OF SERVICE?
Our board will determine term lengths at our first meeting. As an inaugural board, some new members will be selected to serve full terms, while others will be selected to serve partial terms.
HOW CAN I JOIN?
Submit your application by April 30th.
